More than an Access Point. Unlike a standard Access Point which a WLAN device uses to interface to a wired Ethernet LAN, a Peer Point can link to another Peer Point device. It can link to another WLAN device or an Access Point.

Peer Point can link in a One-to-One link (referred to as ad hoc). A One-to-One example would be using the Data Hunter Liberator wireless scanner and linking into a Peer Point assigned exclusively to a single designated Cash Register. Or a hand held WLAN device could target a specific Bar Code Label Printer with an attached Peer Point for printing labels.
