Data Hunter 802.11g&b with dual RS232 COM ports

We are the World Price Leader!

(Data Hunter “g” SerialLANgb is Lower Priced even than competitors old style “b” devices!)

World’s only 802.11“g” Wireless RS232 Serial Server
Over-the-Air “g” rates to 54Mbps

“SerialLANgb Won’t Slow Your “g” Network Down.” Any "b" device (including Laptops and any other Wireless LAN devices) operating on a “g” network (rated to 54Mbps) will slow the entire “g” network down to “b” data rates (11Mbps). That is why it is desirable to have only True “g” capable devices running on a “g” network.

Major Features

SerialLAN (pronounced “Serial-LAN”) is a Wireless LAN (WLAN) with two Wireless RS232 Serial Ports. Compatible with all 802.11g (and b) devices. A SerialLANgb can transmit the RS232 data on both serial ports to/from another SerialLAN or to any 802.11g (or b) compatible WLAN, Access Point, Router, Wireless PCMCIA card, network, PC, Laptop, Notebook, Tablet, PDA or anywhere in the World.

  • Interface to all RS232 Serial devices.
  • This is IEEE 802.11g and b approved industry standard. It is NOT some made-up (proprietary) standard that won’t work with anybodys else’s devices. The SerialLANgb adheres to the IEEE standard and will work with all other devices world-wide that adhere to the IEEE standard.
  • Data Rates individually Programmable up to 115 kbps. and as low as 300 bps
  • Serial Port options are individually set for both wireless RS232 ports.
  • Full Bi-Directional - Wireless Serial Data In, and Wireless Serial Data Out.
  • Optional Local Hardware Flow Control RTS/CTS Handshake signals
  • Optional Software Flow Control (XON/XOF).
  • Supports full wireless RS232 mobility and seamless roaming from cell to cell
  • Easy Set Up is quickly accomplished with the Data Hunter USB Set-Up Utility.
  • Remote Set Up of the wireless RS232 Serial port settings, remotely over-the-air via the wireless link (or via USB or either RS232 serial port).
  • LED Status Indicators - Installation, monitoring and diagnostics supported by valuable LED Status and Activity indicators. These status indicators help make the installation easy for technical and non-technical installers alike.
  • A SerialLAN can also link to another SerialLAN device in a “Peer” One-to-One link (referred to as “ad hoc”). It can link to any other 802.11g (or b) wireless WLAN device or an 802.11gb Access Point or Router.
  • Power from +4.5 to +30 VDC.
  • Power directly from automotive power in vehicle applications, including auto, truck, bus, tractor and boat.
  • Power directly from any instrument, PLC, Controller, N/C machine, CNC controller including 24VDC controller supplies.

Dual Wireless RS232 Serial COM Port Features

  • Dual Wireless RS232 over 802.11(g and b) Wireless LAN
  • Send and Receive Wireless RS232 data to and from and 80211.gb network, PC, Laptop, Notebook and other WLAN-enabled devices.
  • 1 Male DE9M (DB9) RS232 port wired as DTE (like a computer port)
  • 1 Female DE9F (DB9) RS232 port wired as DCE (like Communications (Modem) port). With one of each Male and Female gender port, it is virtually assured that at least one of the ports will plug directly into your RS232 device with a "Straight" cable and without wiring tricks.
  • Easily converts to BOTH PORTS MALE or BOTH PORTS FEMALE.

RS232 Byte Settings:

  • Baud Rate Options: 115000, 57600, 38400, 19200, 9600, 4800, 2400, 1200, 600 bps.
  • Bits Options: 7, 8 bits
  • Parity Options: Odd, Even, None
  • Stop Bit Options: 1, 2 Stop Bits

RS232 Flow Control Supported:

Flow control is used to prevent the buffers in data radios from overflowingFlow control options include Hardware | Software | None ·

  • Hardware Handshake Flow Control: RTS/CTS primary handshake is supported (local flow control) DSR/DTR secondary handshake not supported (DSR/DTR rarely used)
  • Software Handshake Flow Control: XON/XOF Software Flow Control (uses XON=11hex, XOF=13hex)
  • " None" flow control " None" flow control when no hardware or software flow control is available or desired.

RS232 Input and Output Buffers:

  • Input Buffer: 512 Bytes - each channel
  • Output Buffer: 512 Bytes - each channel

Power Specifications and Options
Power Source Options for SerialLAN Wireless RS232
You may be able to Power the SerialLANgb directly from your device.
1. AC power adapter module (100-240VAC) plugs into “DC In” barrel jack.
2. The DC barrel jack can accept power from +5 to +30 VDC.
3. Both the Male and Female RS232 serial port connectors can accept+5 to +30VDC power on pin 9 (“Power-on-9”). You can eliminate the AC power module if you can provide DC power to pin 9, then your Host RS232 device can supply all power to the SerialLANgb through the serial Cable.
4. Vehicle/Auto/Truck can power the SerialLAN directly form the automotive source since the SerialLAN can accept voltages up to +30VDC
5. Can be powered for purposes of Set Up from USB port.
